Mercruiser engine year

I am trying to find out if I have the original block on my boat and get the accurate year of build. 2002 Starcraft, Mercruiser 3.0 M035849 is s/n on the tag above the starter. Tried poking around a few parts sites but this number does not show up as found. Sterndrive S/N is OL972683 and transom is OM219934

I think you have to put an O or 0 in front of the M and it will come up .

My engine is OM694685 is a june 2003 build ( in a 2004 boat) so your serial being earlier numerically would line up with a 2001-02 year
