A grease fitting is turning out to be a tough part to track down.No marine stores stock them.I have to assume an automotive will not be stainless.Does anyone know the specifics on a merc grease fitting ,size ,what its made of etc., ??

I don't know specifically what an automotive fitting is made of, but I've never seen one rusty!

Charlie, You could use a standars automotove one and leave a film of grease on it. If you run in fresh water it will certainly not be an issue. If you run in salt water, make the coating a bit heavier, and you will likely not have an issue.

Zerts used on Merc.s are 1 of 2 sizes of threads.........Same as Everything Else, but the Metrics......

The Small 1s are 1/4"X28 threads.......

The Large 1s are 1/8" Pipe thread.......

And,..... I'm Extremely Doubtful that even Merc.'s are SSteel.......
