Mercruiser I / 110 lower unit removal probelms

I am trying to remove my lower unit from my Merc I / 110 outdrive and I am having problems removing the trim tab, there is a possibility that someone has stripped the screw holding it on with an undersized allen key. Does anyone know of any possible way of removing the trimtab without damaging anything??

Not without damaging ANYTHING. The trim tab will need to be destroyed. It is fairly soft and can be cut / drilled off. That's usually your only alternative.
