I have heard that you should crank the engine over for a few seconds with the lanyard dissconnected so it will not start the engine to purge any water left in the lower unit after draining the block etc. Is this a good idea and does it harm the impeller? i assume it does not harm the impeller since when a drained block is started in the spring for the first time in the lake or to have anifreeze pumped through the impeller in the fall it would run dry for a second anyway. Any input appreciated.
