(mercruiser lower unit) centrifugal slinger

When you place the centrifugal slinger you push it to come face to face with the top of the housing or you leave a small space between them ?

i'm doing the same thing now. Seloc manual page 9-25 photo in lower left shows the slinger (god and merruiser only know what that does) butted right up against the top of the pump housing, and the o ring at the bottom edge of the splines...for both of our sakes, I hope this is right.

Push it down to light contact on the impeller hsg.

Don S posted a drawing of the pump hsg and slinger a while back that showed the installed height. I'm not sure but I think it was 5/16" You might try doing a search.

that's the way i've done it. w/o ramifiications.....
