Alarm on 2002 5.0 m/c started ringing, stopped when I unplugged drive lube monitor.Guess the sender must be haywire.Im assuming oil and temp alarm functions still will work can anyone confirm that? Also is there any literature out there that tells a bit about the alarm syst?(I dont have the merc manual for this model)The diagram in Clymers plus what ive read on posts indicates the alarm will sound for temp, oil press and lube, also overspeed? Ia this correct,or are there other senders?

I'll bet you a nickel that your drive oil is all sludged up in the bottle, causing the switch float to stick. Remove the bottle, drain the oil, flush it out, refill and re-install. I'll bet your alarm stops.
Not sure about 2002, but my 1997 Bravo had a sticker that said the alarm goes off for high temp, low drive oil, and low oil pressure.

Yes...the temperature and oil pressure functions will still work as advertised.

Happy boating!
