Check the top of this forum adults only thread for the service manuals (9?). Just on a guess, you need service manual #13.

Re: Mercruiser MCM 3.0??

Isn't the year of manufacture included at the end of the serial number, stamped on the starboard side of the transom of almost all boats? So the last two digits ought to be 93.

This serial number you posted is for your sterndrive, 0C369282 Model number 5010198AS MERCRUISER ALPHA 1.98:1. R.H. ROTATION.
The drive manufacture Date was on: 02/08/1988.

The name of the oil you will want to run in your sterndrive is called (Mercruiser high performance gear lube plus).

Check the top of this forum adults only thread for the service manuals (9?). Just on a guess, you need service manual #13.
For this perticular sterndrive, The OP will need service manual part number 90-129342 SERVICE MANUAL #6 R/MR/ALPHA ONE.

As far as service manual number 13 goes for his engine, We will need to see his engine serial number to anwser that correctly, Because of the undetermined year of the engine/Boat.

Isn't the year of manufacture included at the end of the serial number, stamped on the starboard side of the transom of almost all boats? So the last two digits ought to be 93.
Yes, normally the boats hull identification number is located around the starboard side of the outside transom area.

Normally the last two digits should be the year of the boat, my guess is, his should be somewhere around the year 1988.

Thanks for the quick replys.

The serial number on the transom is OC377891.

So will that make it a 91?

Nope that will not make it a 1991.

This serial number you posted is for the transom housing assembly This serial number is also for a 1988.;)

Next you will want to look for the engine serial number within the areas that they talk about in this next link. https://appcenter.mercurymarine.com/litreq/popSnLocator-mc.jsp

The below links will help you find your boats ID number on your transom if your interested.
