Hey guys,

I have a problem I can not figure out and I am looking for some help. I have a 1990 Mecrusier 5.7L 260HP. The problem is the remote will not go past 90 degees. I have only had the boat a few months, but I will swear that prior to today the remote would go to 120 degrees or so. It now stops at the same place it stops if I have the motor out of gear for warm up purposes. I have searched the fourms, and I have been unable to find anything covering this paticular problem. My top speed is down and I am slower out of the hole.

Any Ideas

Do you mean that the throttle lever will only travel from straight up to 90 degrees down (so that it is parallel to the water?) If so, that is what mine does, and all I have ever noticed on other's boats.

Maybe the cable has gotten a bind in it. You could try to dissconnect it and make sure it has full range of motion at the remote then check where it connects at the motor and make sure nothing is jamming it from full movement. It sounds like you have something that has shifted or fallen in the way.
