I have just completed replacing rotten transom that an incompetent marine surveyor missed. Former owner had installed (2) Chevy 383 "stroker" motors and what looks like Moroso extra capacity oil pans and oil drainage kits. The motors have mechanical fuel pumps so I am fairly certain that blocks have split rear main seals. However, the Moroso oil pans were almost touching outward motor mount stringer/stands before re-glassing. Since I have re-glassed, I may have added materials which may reduce bilge area required by the oversized oil pans. I have located several traditional aluminum marine oil pans online. But, I don't know if "stroker" motors require these oversized oil pans. Obviously, the extra oil plumbing hardware would have to be reconfigured or replaced to accommodate a standard oil pan. I hope all fits but I like to know options if I added too much glass. I have included photos of 1 pan and glassed area.
