Hello, I am replacing an old worn out Mercuiser Bravo 3 outdrive. The old drive gear ratio is 2.43:1 which is no longer available. I can replace it with a 2.20:1. Will this drive work? Will I have to re-pitch or buy different props? Or is it not possible for this drive to work for the application.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,..... What rpms were you seein' at Wot,..??

That's a very small difference,....
Where the rpms come in will determine whether different props are necessary,....

2.43 . . . that's a new one to me. Worst case, you might have to go down one step in the pitch, since the ratio is close to the original.

I think Merc drop that 'this drive ratio for that engine' thing a few years ago. It's now up to the dealer to select the most suitable ratio for the customer...
