Mercruiser outdrive version

Hi
can someone say what model is this out drive ? the engine has been replaced to iveco aifo disel

Well, that's a proper hack job you've got there!

Genuine 'FrankenMerc'... The drive is an Alpha One Gen II, but the gimbal housing is the earlier Alpha One... complete with external oil monitor and rams.

Love to know what's been hacked into to make those fit.

Ayuh,..... Spent some time in the shop of my Outdrive guy 1 night,......

The conclusion was the shift linkages in the bellhousin' could be mixed, 'n matched to convert 1 way or the other,.....
In the end, whichever was converted, was no longer compatible with what it was compatible with originally,.....

In other words, the transom assembly in the picture won't accept an Alpha 1 drive,.....

I think the width of the drive at the gimbal ring supports is different too. Either the supports need to be ground out :eek:, or the wear pads on the Gen II drive need to be ground down...
