Mercruiser Riser

I'm changing my exhaust manifolds and risers on a 1997 LX 5.7- 350 I,m going with the aluminum ones.
The question;
Should I put the zink pencils in the 1/4in. hole on the top of the riser or just put a plug in it ?

I'm sorry I boat in salt water only !I'm asking if the anode should be put in the riser at the 1/4 inch plug on top .

I personally would not go with aluminum manifolds in salt water. arent the iron ones cheaper anyways..?

I've got aluminum manifolds/risers, been running in salt water for 5 years with no problems...yes you should put the anode in there.
