Mercruiser serial clutter?

Hi and good day, I am trying to locate an affordable parts dealership in USA. I have my engine serial number, but it doesn't make any sense with the parts I am finding. I have a 1996 Mercruiser 3.0LX (Serial: 0F785179).

And the parts I find have serial strings like this (Clipping from part dealership: Remanufactured Marine Carburetor for Mercruiser Rochester 2 BBL 2GC Electric choke MCM 120 / 2.5L Serial # : 6229718 - up MCM 140 / 3.0L / 3.0LX 4-cyl Serial# 6229718-C856558 Mfg. # : 1348-818621, 1351-8480 OEM # : 17081060)

And by the way, can anyone recommend a good and reasonable priced parts dealership in or outside the US? Price and delivery time is important.

Thank you,
Ingulf from Norway

Re: Mercruiser serial clutter?

That serial number string you listed is for Rochester carbs, your carb is a MerCarb. They kind of look like a Rochester, but are different.
The part number for your carb should be 3310-807504A 1
Here is a link to the carb you need. Rather they have it or not is another story, the carbs are NLA from Mercruiser

Why don't you rebuild the one you have? Kits should be availible.

Re: Mercruiser serial clutter?

Thanks for you replies. Do I have to buy an original MerCarb? Or are there any 3rd party parts that are cheaper?

What is the best dealership?

Re: Mercruiser serial clutter?

As I understand it, there is possible to buy a remanufactured carburetor for the Mercruiser. I got the feeling Rochester makes carbs that fit Mercruiser aswell? Correct me if I am wrong.
