mercruiser shift interupt switch need wiring confirmed

I just installed a delco est distributor in my 85 5.7 with a alpha one drive I think I have it figured out but want to make sure before I tear something up. I am taking the black wire off the shunk timing connector with the white wire not looped together, and connecting it to one wire on the switch and the other end of the switch to 12v. I want to make sure this is all correct before I solder and shrink wrap these connections.

That was for a 3.0, but the principal is the same.
