Mercruiser Starting Problems

I have a 1999 Bayliner 2350 SS with a mercruiser 5.0 220 hp engine. Quite often when I try to start it it will just click once and not start up. Normally after multiple attempts it will start. The boat does not have a gas fume sensor so this is not the problem. It sounds like it may be a starter motor problem ? Anybody had similar problems.

Either your Soleniod is not working properly or your starter has a dead spot.<br /><br />Also check your wiring for clean tight connections.<br /><br />TMD
