Mercruiser thermostat 3.7 170hp 470

Hey 470 members,

I have a new thermostat to put in. Can anyone tell me what way it goes in thanks

I just replaced mine and if you bought the marine thermostat there should be an arrow on the side of the stat and words that say "toward radatior" which in our case the heat exchanger.

OK so do i go towards heat exchanger or up into the resivor.

I guess the first question is which 470 do you have? and where is your thermostat located.
