Looking for some opinions, we have a 2005 Mercruiser 350 MPI, Bravo 3 drive. It has just developed a noticble TICK noise, removed oil fill cap and volume stayed the same, thought it might be a valve. It is only on the port side, my son in law thinks it may be a exhaust leak. I had a '62 Chevy P.U. with headers and it made the same noise every 2k or so and I'd retorque the offending one and that fixed it. Could this be a manifold leak between the engine block and the exahust manifold. Is this a easy fix, can it wait for a few weeks ? I'm rather rotund and there isnt much room for me to get in and take a closer look. Not real clear on how the exhaust system works on the boat. Thanks in advance

Re: mercruiser ticking

I tightened manifold bolts with what I had on boat, and it helped. Will take torque wrench and tighten to specs. Thanks Bondo for the opinion.
