Got a mercruiser 350 Mag MPI.
Had it out the other day and the torque has suddenly dropped off. The boat wont get on the plane when fully loaded with 800 KG when a couple days before it was fine.
I dont believe the engine is in limp mode as I can get boat on the plane when ballast empty. Engine alarm is not going off. I have had limp mode once and the boat wouldnt rev high and would not get on the plane.
I have pulled the plugs out and buying new ones to go in tomorrow. I have checked the plug leads and dizzy cap for corrosion all seem ok. I am gonna replace fuel filter as precaution. Fuel system i assume is fine though it being EFI its a hard to tell without a computer to plug in.
The revs on the motor are showing normal range.
I assume it is not tranmission issue. It is a velvet v-drive. I do not know 100% but i assume it is using a fluid coupling and i have checked tranmission oil levels and they are ok.
I do not have any scan tool or computer diagnostics.
Anyone got any ideas ?
