I'm having a problem with the trim on an alpha one that I haven't seen addressed before. The trim "up" function works fine when the boat is on the trailer but it won't work when the boat's in the water.I have to use the trailer button to raise it.It trims down just fine.I don't understand why it works on the trailer but not in the water.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,...... The trim up circuit runs through the trim limit switch on the gimbel ring,.....

My guess is the switch is bad, 'n when it gets wet it don't work,....

To test Bondo hypothesis, disconnect the trim limit switch (at the trim pump harness) and put a short jump in place. If that fixes the problem, you have the solution, replace the trim senders (they come as a kit with both senders)... Have fun

Thanks for the input. Is water supposed to get inside to the limit switch? If not, could the o-ring on the cover be bad and letting water in? Trying to be optimistic!

There shouldn't be water inside the senders. Yes, the O ring may be leaking, but if it is, the only 'repair' is to replace them...

Well I guess I will have to get to work on it and figure it out with the jumper. Thanks again for the help.
