Mercruiser versus GM marine engine?

I need a rebuilt or new engine for the 1981 Searay SRV210.<br />Looking on Internet for a replacement 5.7L Mercruiser. Anyone has any good experience with shipping long block or maybe a drop in by mail order? Any feedback on "DaddyO engines" from Florida?<br />What is the diferrence between GM Marine and Mercruiser besides a lot of money?<br />Looking to spend no more than $3.000.00 for motor prior to installation.

None that I know of as long as you get the correct design for that year....All of your accessories will fit....Ebasicpower or Dougrussell are good places to look....JK

That's because Mercruiser adds all the accessories that make it a Boat Motor,... <br />To a GM Marine Long Block...........<br /><br />It's the Difference between a Motor,..... And a Well Dressed Motor.............
