Mercruser 250, 6 cylinder, MR1 drive. What are the problems with switching 250 inline 6 to 350 V8,chev.

Several problems.....Manifolds, risers, brackets, Do you have room in the doghouse? Gear ratio's. Prop. Normally its not worth the change over! Id pass unless your customer or you have PLENTY of money.

Not enough money for me to do job. The owner has enough parts to do job, my concern now is the gear ratio.

Will a Y pipe bolt to your transom assembly?? Probably not....good place to start. gear ratio can be changed.

Owner has transom braket for both engines. <br /><br />Thanks for the replys, owner going farward with this project, I will post results, Didnt look like a money maker to me, so I did not bid on the job, only an offer, to help with engine alignment and shift cable, the easy stuff.
