Mercruser 4.3 not starting

Hello i have a 91 mercruser 4.3 just recently replaced the starter but now it cranks but it doesn't start i check with the key open it seems no gas get to carburetor via the gas line from fuel pump ,,from others experience is the mechanical fuel pump gone bad ,please if someone could advise that be greatly appreciated

Need to narrow down if you have missing fuel or spark. Take coil wire off distributor and ground it near engine you should see a spark. if not need to get spark back

dump some gas down the carb see if it starts for a bit.if so could be issue with fuelline anitsiphon valve or fuel filter in addition to pump which i assume is mechanical

take fuel line off carb divert it to a container crank engine see if gas comes out. Could be needle and seat in carb is stuck and fuel pump is fine

Thank you will do that,i'll checkbfor spark and antisiphon valve,,i appreciate it,i don't have gas in the line that goes to carburetor
