I recently purchased a 1977 VIP with a mercruiser 140 and have taken it out several times. On my last trip the shifter seemed to stick and then would not go into drive. Meanwhile the reverse still works perfectly, but the forward gear will not engage at all. I am assuming it has something to due with the lower cable linkage. Should I try to adjust it or just replace the whole thing as it's probably original. I just trying to keep from going to the shop and saving some cash.<br />Thanks!
