mercrusier 4.3 efi coil problems

hello i have a mercrusier 4.3 efi 210 hp 2001model<br />that keeps burning out coils and cant seem to fix it any sugestions would be greatfull

to high resistance in secondary side- corroded coil wire connections, bad coil wire, wrong rotor, cracked corroded cap, carbon button in cap, etc. is my WAG. or alternator is providing to much when running. or heat. more details of how it happens and how you got to bad coil diagnosis would maybe narrow it down.

thanks for reply. voltage out of alternator 14.6volts this stys the same when reved up so the regulater seems to be working. i think it is the coil when engine stops and i replace the coil it starts first time.the coil is mounted on the side of the engine it might be heating up to much also i noticed it was arcing for the - pole to the ht lead could this have been the prob? i have also had the mercruiser guys looking at it under warrenty and they could sort it out they sent me a circuit breaker and a 90 amp fuse, but, i don't think it is any of these. I think i'll try a msd high vibration coil and see what happens
