Swapping over my flywheel yesterday and I noticed my casting number on the one that I am removing is 14091599N.

The replacement flywheel casting number is 12557590N is this a suitable replacement?

I know someone will ask why I am replacing the flywheel well it's because of negligence from PO. Teethe are ground down.

They kept trying to start it with Hydraulic lock on pistons. I have already found how the H2O got in.

Just trying to get it up and running.

The new flywheel is from 98 Vortec that has a large crack in the intake Valley. I was hopping to just swap them over.

My engine is a 95 4.3LX Vortec with a balance shaft. I have counted teethe and laid them on top of each other and I have bolted the 12557590 on without issue.

The reason I ask the question, when I lay them on the floor the 12557590 seems a little thicker?

Thanks, for the help

Ayuh,... So just change the Ring Gear, 'n Not the whole flywheel....

Chevy changed the balancin' of the 4.3l flywheels so often, I can't keep track of 'em...

The Ring Gear is just knocked off with a punch, 'n hammer...
Put the new Ring Gear into yer oven, at it's highest settin' for a 1/2 hour or so....
It'll drop right into place, without beatin', when it's hot enough...
