Mercrusier Storage Question

I currently own a 2006 VIP with a 5.0L Mercrusier with the Alpha drive. This engine has the Turn Key system on it and I was wondering about how to store it over long periods of time. With this TKS system, will it hurt to run all of the gas out of this carburetor. I have already had to rebuild the carburetor this year due to it being stored with bad gas.

You help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Mercrusier Storage Question

What are you considering a "Long Period of Time"? If you are only talking over the winter, just add fuel stabilizer to the tank on your last trip before storage, and the stabilizer should keep the fuel in good condition for at least a year.
I wouldn't run the carb out of gas. That's not good for the gaskets or the accelerator pump.

Re: Mercrusier Storage Question

"Long period of time" would be no more than 6-8 months. What do you recommend as a good stabilizer?
