On a mercruiser 3 litre, what is the second 3 wire oil pressure send unit for? There is a T fitting on engone block with a standard 1 wire pressure sending unit and on other end of T a 3 wire sending unit. thanks

It prevents the electric fuel pump from running with the key left on.....
It will only be in the 'on' position if their is sufficient oil pressure.....
Simply put, it is a safety feature......
