Mercuise3.0HELP!!!

Is this possible!! i had my sterndrive hooked up to muffs for an hour or so while I changed points<br />and did some other stuff. After starting my motor<br />my oil was severly contaminated with water<br />I am fairly new to raw water cooling systems<br />is there a chance you can get water into the motor if there is no exhaust gas to push the water out of the stendrive?<br />any help would be apreciated<br />vintage1986

If exhaust riser is old and 1/2 pluged with<br />rust - hose turned on high. Water could back<br />up in exhaust manifold - run into cylinders - <br />and flood engine.<br />How was engine running before problem.<br />A little engine history helps.

the motor ran like crap I had the carb rebuilt and it still ran poorly. would not idle or accelerate.<br />I changed the points and it ran great. it starts and runs fine now have changed the oil 3 times today. getting all the water out of it .it is almost clear oil again. thank you for your response
