You didn't provide much info so this is just a wild guess based on my own experience with that motor. Sometimes the metal fuel line leading up the carb would get hot enough to cause vapor lock. Once you cooled off the gas line, everything would be fine. Wrapping the fuel line with pipe insulation seems to have mostly solved that problem on my boat.
