I've got a 1971 Mercury 1000, inline 6 Thunderbolt ingintion. It doesn't feel like all the
ponies are working. It has not had a tune-up in more years than I came remember. What
are the usually suspects that could be robbing my power?

welcome John,
I have a '70 inline 6 1150 that had this prob.
turned out to be "fuel starvation" under load.
I reccomend doing a search under that problem
on this site first. could be carbs, tank/vents,
intake lines, pumps etc.
good luck :D
M.Y.

check your spark plug wires and coils and make sure you are getting spark to all cylinders...then go on from there
