I am currently putting my 2000 Mercury 115 L4 back together after replacing a burnt piston and honing the rest of the cylinders and new rings. I plan on using the Loctite 518 between the 2 halves of the block as the manual shows. However, I cannot find any documentation on the torque specifications of the inner and outer bolts. I also am finding conflicting information relative to if any sealant needs to be put between the block and lower crankshaft bearing. I read one comment that teflon should be utilized like what's on the upper crankshaft pressed in seal. It is a tight fit but wondering if I should at least run 1 layer of teflon tape around the outer surface of that lower main bearing...

The manual shows 25 ft. lbs. on the inner mains and 18 ft. lbs. on the smaller outer bolts. This just seems light to me but maybe the between the two machined surfaces helps it.

It does not show anything around that lower crank bearing and saw where someone talked about the teflon.
