Anyone know the thread pattern for the eight bolts clustered around the inner part of the flywheel? (1974 Mercury 1150)
Thanks!

Thread pattern (??), do you mean torquing sequence??

If so, just snug all the bolts down; tighten one bolt then the bolt opposite the one you just tightened. Work around the flywheel until all bolts are tight.

Bolts should be torqued to 25-foot/lbs.

Prior to installation, degrease the bolts and apply one drop of Loctite Red threadlocking compound to each.

BTW these bolts are 5/16"-NF, Grade 8 if I recall.

Yup..... I believe that's correct 5/16-24 fine thread.

p.s. Don't forget to mark the flywheel orientation if you are planning to remove them all. The timing indicator is set up based on its current position.

If you're planning just to remove three bolts to install a puller then that's not an issue. They do make pullers that thread into the inside as well. Available on eBay relatively cheap, and they double as a lifting ring.
