Good Morning everyone. This is my first time here and hope you all can help a guy out. I have recently come across a 1979 Bomber Citation bass boat. It has a mercury 1150 motor on it. For some reason i can not get it to start. I have taken it ot my cuncle and he has looke dit over and tested the compression on it and says the compression on varies about 4lbs across all 6 cylinders. My question is we are unable to geta spark from it :confused:thus not letting the engine start. What should be my first coarse of action? Thanks for your help.

Re: mercury 1150 help

Since i don't have the motor with me i will call and find out what it is. The boat is located in Indiana right now. When you mention serial number or part number you are refering to the starter switch correct?

Re: mercury 1150 help

If your are sure the engine is a 79 or has 6 coils that will be good enough.
