hi all

putting back together the above engine after transplanting from another boat.
All is well, but I’m missing an earth cable from what it was like previously. Problem is that half way through the engine change over...someone intervened before I could mark it up.
Anyone know where the other earth cable goes or comes from ?
the picture shows two cables attached to the starter earth and as it was originally. All I have now is one earth going to the same bolt on the starter. Any ideas ?

In picture. The two earth cables were as they were before I removed and changed the engine onto another boat.
Whilst was changing over the actual engine itself..I left all remotes and wiring loose on the other boat. Whilst I was away...the new owner of the original boat took all the gear off so he could fit his engine on. So I’m left putting the puzzle back together. Wasn’t the plan really !

so now I’m left with just one earth to the battery from here. And a cut positive cable from the starter.

There was a battery isolater on the other boat so maybe the cut positive went to that and on to the battery after there...but the other earth cable is still a mystery. No sign of it lying on other boat either. Pics of this engine online don’t seem to show 2 cables but I clearly did for some reason.

You just need a ground under that bolt and a positive to solenoid and your good. Suspect extra was ground to 2nd battery and selector switch choice the positives.

Ah. Brilliant. Thanks for the help. I have one ground there now. Straight to battery. The positive is cut. I think it went to an isolater switch.
