Hi I'm looking at a boat with a 150 EFI engine on it. It should be a 06 or 07 engine. Can anyone tell me about these engines. How loud they are? How good on Fuel they are? Reliablity. Thanks for any help.

Hello.. If its a standard 150EFI and not the Hi-Po version it will be the same noise level as standard V-6 Mercury, the fuel mileage will bea tad better than the carb version motor and are very reliable if maintained as needed( fuel filters,Quickleen, battery connections)

Re: Mercury 150 EFI engine question?

had this guy in the fishing club hit a rock while running with that same motor a 150 EFI. he made it back to the ramp from 20 miles out. when he pulled the boat out of the water, the skeg was gone, the side of his lower unit was also gone (you could see the gears in the lower unit!!! and missing a blade from his 4 blade prop. i'm sold on mercs!
