Mercury 150 hp outboards

Because the props on twin outboards turn in different directions does that mean that the rubber impellers in the water pumps also turn in different directions?

No ... the only Merc engine to run backwards was the early,early inlines and the 1987 Johnson/Evinrude 200hp.
