I have an older mercury, 77 model. Engine runs good with water hose attached, revs fine. When we put it in the lake, we cant get above a fast idle with the throttle wide open. I have two fuel pumps and three carbs, the carbs were rebuilt installed new fuel lines but I'm not 100% sure the fuel lines are installed correctly. Engine has no miss, just will not take fuel on the water. :(

Hey Big Tim,
How's everything in Flat Gap? A bunch of my people are buried in Orchard Gap, but that's here in Texas.

Get yourself a squirt bottle and put some premix in it. When you're trying to acclerate and the engine is falling on its face, give the carbs a shot of fuel. If it picks up, you'll know ya got a fuel problem for sure. If it picks up when you squirt the top carb, you'll know that's the culprit. Middle carb, etc. Give that a try and see what happens. Lettus know

g'luck & c/6

Hooty
