Mercury 1500xs gear oil change

Hi guys I have a Mercury 1500xs and was wonder how to change the gear oil and what one to use and how much?

Also is there any1 in Scotland that can work on them in uk?

That motor is pretty rare and likely worth some $$ or is it EE?

There is a drain plug (stainless slotted screw) under the "bullet" part of the gearcase in the front. Loosen it with an impact driver and remove it. There is a second plug above the antiventilation plate on the side of the motor. Loosen as before and remove. The gear oil will drain out the bottom. let it all drip out and refill with any marine gear oil for mechanical shift motors. It will take 25+ oz, so buy a quart (liter).

Sorry, don't rermeber if you Scots are metric or not......

Cheers for the info bud. Not gonna sell as its a realiable engine just now. Do these sell well?

Is there any chance you could show me on a diagram?

Lousy picture but at the bottom you will see the Drain/Fill plug, item 47 and just at the top of item 1, Gear Housing, you can make out the two holes which are visible. The forward one is the Vent Plug which must be open when filling from the bottom.
