Mercury 18 ignition wiring

I have a mercury 18 electric start. I got a new control box and the old ignition wont fit so i am putting it on the dash. There is a coil of wires. 5 wires are dissconnected (open ended) right before they go into the harness. This is because when i took the ignition out of the old box, i had to dissconnect the wires. I dont know how they go back together now. there are 2 blacks,2 yellow with red stripe, and 1 black with yellow stripe. Wat do i do with them. Another problem is im not sure were the battery wires connect to the engine.Do they both go on the soliniod? Right now one is back farther on the engine. I just put $300 in the engine and i am trying to save and do it myself. Please help.

Adam;what would realy help is if in the $300.you spent there was a part called Manual,this would save a lot of head aches.with a manu. for your yr.mol.& sn.it would have a schematic dwg.and a whole lot of info. so you could do your own repair and save more.BUT w/out yr./sn its hard to give the correct info .none of my manuals have your color code on those wires.
