Mercury 20 hp 1978 Remote control

I have a mercontrol box that I would like to use with my old 1978 mercury (20hp) My throttle cable attached without a problem. But my shift cable is not coming together as easy. I found a mercury remote control attaching kit (part# 826633A1). But its about $130.00. It seems to me that I am only missing a part to attach the cable. The kit is for the shifter and the throttle. Anyone would know if I really need to buy this kit or can I just buy the part? Thanks

Can you get a picture of the shifter under the cover?

There should be a little cable attachment on the shifter lever

And it threw me off at first, for the shifter the cable end attaches to a fixed point on the engine block, and the cable mounted end pulls the lever

I'm trying to locate all of my boat parts, but alot of my stuff got lost after the move...

I might have a spare cable attachment if your missing it.
