mercury 225 on spark

hey guys,
motor died 2 weeks ago thought it was fuel changed the filters and bulb but now it starts but then dies in about 10 seconds ,then you check spark and it seems not to spark wait a couple of hours and it might start again has anybody got any ideas thanks very frustrated

sounds like a bad crank sensor!! usally you cant really test them you gotta just replace it. The only thing that sucks is once you install it its yours you cant return it. But Its a good chance thats what it is good luck

hi guys , i did check the crank sensor that was ok but i went back and checked the key to the kill switch thats where the fault was replaced both purrs like a kitten
