Mercury 25 hp lower end

I have a 1989 ( I believe ) 25 hp 2 stroke model # 6153630 that I tried to pull the lower unit only to find out that it will not drop out. Are there any other fasteners that I am missing? Need some advise.

Have you removed the shift shaft pin? (Under the carb)....

No, I have'nt. How do I get to it?

Take the cowl off and look under the carb, from the port side of the engine. You'll see a black clip that you flick up and pull out of the shift shaft. I'm guessing you're doing all this without the manual, right?

Yeah, heck of a way to start eh. I need to check and possibly change the impeller it's not pumping.
