I recently had an apparent "timing" problem and when running at high RPM'sblew out the number 2 plug and the number 1 was a little melted. I replaced the plugs, and checked the timing (2 ATDC) and set it. I recently replace the distributor and rotor and the plug wires are good.
It fired right up but at "LOW" RPM's, the engine really shakes. When you accelerate, the "shaking" goes away but it still does not seem to be running "great.
also I would like to confirm the plug wires are correct and when I originally set the timeing I did NOT go to "base". What is this?
It does not have the "get up and go" and it seems I have lost about 5-7mph on the top end.
any suggestions please.
