Mercury 3.6 hp neutral

Hi everyone, I just got a 3.6 and I can not find a neutral switch or gear anywhere. Is it possible that it always stays in gear? Also could someone tell me the year of this motor? The S/N is 7153428.

Hi,

I think they were direct drive. For reverse you turned them around.
They were made from MMmm...1980 to 82 I think. You have a high Sn so probably a 82. (just a guess on all of it)
