Hello, I have a Merc 3000 classic throttle contol for my merc 115 outboard.

My problem is that the power trim switch on the throttle for "down" does not do anything. "Up" works just fine as well as the power trim switch located on the motor itself---(up and down work)

I sense that there is a problem with the trim switch on the throttle control arm. But i can't seem to find anyway of taking the arm off. Does anybody know of the merc 3000 classic throttle and how you would accomplish this. Many thanks

vicar101

Re: mercury 3000 throttle

Thanks Signoff, I got it off and fixed the wiring for the trim.

However when I put it back together, I now have a new problem: the shifter will not advance without pressing in the button (which means that it will not go into gear) Didi I put it together wrong. Do you reassemble the same way as you take apart?? Thanks
