I have a Suntracker 21' Deck Boat and today I hit an underwater tree branch. The engine still runs great but I have no forward or reverse thrust. I can hear the engine rev and the prop spins a little but no thrust. I had to have the boat towed back to the slip. Does anyone have any ideas on what this could be. This is my first boat so I'm pretty new to all this and learning as I go. Ant help would be gratly appreciated.

Hi Antmar,

70% chance of a busted driveshaft.
25% chance of a spun hub in the prop.
4% chance of a stripped engine coupler.
1% chance of something else.

Chris...............

If you have (or can borrow) a spare prop, try swapping out your current prop. Maybe you "spun" the rubber bushing in your prop. This would be your "best case" scenario.

Thanks for the quick replies. It's not sounding very good at this point. I'll hope it's just a spun hub and not a busted driveshaft.
