i have totally rebuilt a mercury 50 hp 4 cylinder two stroke from the early eighties with power trim and tilt
i rebuilt the engine from a box of bits and is almost complete and rady for testing
however the engine is all put together but i have noticed whilst wiring it up that there are two wires that have been severred fom the loom that comes from the stator both wires are yellow and have snapped off below the flywheel i have about an inch of wire showing on each
these two wires i believe connect to the rectifier and my question is if i solder extension on to the wire i have showing and heat shrink them does it matter which way round they go on the rectifier as they are both yellow
many thanks rob
