My 1983 50hp Mercury, starts and runs at trolling speed fine. When i go to full throttle it bogs at about half throttle. When i hit the choke it will cut out more but not stall. I replaced the fuel lines from tank to carbs. Installed new plugs. Compression is 110-120 on all cyls. Replaced one coil and plug wire. Didnt help. Took it to Dealer. They tested it and said the Stator was bad. I replaced with a CDI. Still have same symptoms. Today i tested the Trigger and rectifier. They tested ok. I'm using Seloc manual for specs and guidance, but at this point i need some help. Thanks

Have the dealer test it again. It doesn't happen often, but perhaps they sold you a defective part.

Re: Mercury 50hp- wont throttle up

Thanks Wingedwheel. I bought the Stator from Iboats "great service" not from the dealer. The dealer had told me that the fault didnt show up until they did a tank test. When i checked resistance on both stators the CDI was Blue to Blue white 2.05. Red to red white 52.8? The original was Blue to blue white 8.13, red to redwhite 64.3. These number dont match the chart. Not sure if i'm taking them correctly. Thanks.
