I'm in the market for a small fishing boat and a lot of them have Mercury 60hp engines on them. I recently came across a 2008 that had a 60 four stroke that didn't look like the Big Foot version because it didn't have the hump back appearance.
Did Mercury make two different four strokes in 2008? When did Mercury start making four stroke 60 hp engines and when did the Big Foot version start? Did these two models overlap in any particular years? Is one better than the other? When did they start making EFI engines and are they much preferred over carburetor engines? Any other information on these engines would be appreciated.
I have searched on the internet for answers but finding the exact info that I want seems to be very difficult. If you can point me to a link with this information that would be great too.
