Mercury 6hp Twin S/N

Hey all...i went and got a Mercury 6hp Twin OB motor for Backup...thing is i can't find S/N....Where should i look for it?
Also need a Owners Manual or any info on this motor.

If there is no serial number plate on the front of the tilt tube or the swival bracket it will be in a plate cast on the starboard sire of the block it should say COMET and right below it should have the number stamped in it.

I found these numbers just above the coil... 2243442 ...Is this it?

That makes it a 1967 U.S. built engine
